What are the best tools for tracking UGC ad performance?
Meta Ads Manager and TikTok Ads Manager hold the raw data, and custom columns cover hook rate and hold rate. Creative analytics tools such as Motion group results by creative and tag hooks and formats. Attribution tools like Triple Whale help connect ads to orders. A simple spreadsheet works at low volume.
Tools by job
| Job | Examples | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Raw ad data | Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager | Free; build custom columns for hook and hold rate |
| Creative analytics | Motion and similar tools | Group results by creative, tag hooks and formats, compare visually |
| Attribution | Triple Whale and similar tools | Connect ad spend to store orders |
| Simple tracking | A spreadsheet | Enough at low volume |

What to track per ad
- Angle, hook type, format, presenter, length.
- Spend, impressions, hook rate, hold rate.
- Click-through rate, cost per purchase, ROAS.
- Launch date and date it was turned off.
Do you need a paid tool?
Not at first. If you launch a handful of ads a week, a spreadsheet with consistent tags and an Ads Manager export does the job. Creative analytics tools earn their cost when you're running dozens of ads and need to see patterns across hooks and formats quickly.
The habit matters more than the tool
Consistent naming and tagging from the first ad is what makes any tool useful. Untagged data can only tell you which ad won, not why.
If you need more variations to test, ScrollStop Labs produces UGC-style ads with alternate hooks, delivered by email in 72 hours.
