How do you spot high-converting UGC ads?
Look for ads that keep spending, because ad platforms put budget behind what converts. In the Meta Ad Library, long-running active ads are usually winners. In your own account, a high-converting ad pairs strong hook rate and click-through with a cost per purchase at or below target over meaningful spend.
In other brands' ads
You can't see another brand's conversion data, but you can see signals:
- Longevity: in the Meta Ad Library, an ad active for weeks or months is usually profitable, because advertisers turn off losers quickly.
- Iterations: many versions of the same ad with different hooks or presenters suggests the brand is scaling a winner.
- Reuse: the same video running across Meta and TikTok.
Likes and comments are a weaker signal; they can be boosted and don't measure sales.
In your own account
A high-converting ad shows up as:
- Cost per purchase at or below target over meaningful spend.
- Strong hook rate and click-through relative to other ads in the same campaign.
- The platform giving it a growing share of budget.
- Performance holding up as spend increases.
What to copy from a winner
Break it down beat by beat: the angle, the exact hook, how soon the product appears, the proof used, the call to action and the length. Then test one change at a time. Our examples guide shows this breakdown on six spec ads.
If you need more variations to test, ScrollStop Labs produces UGC-style ads with alternate hooks, delivered by email in 72 hours.
