Is there a low-cost way to produce UGC ads?
Yes. The cheapest options are self-serve AI UGC tools at roughly $5 to $30 per video, low-cost creator marketplaces, or a done-for-you AI studio. The trade-off is your time and quality control. Whichever you choose, budget for several variations, because one video rarely wins on its own.
Low-cost options compared
| Option | Typical cost | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Film it yourself or with customers | Your time | Quality and volume depend on you |
| Self-serve AI UGC tool | About $5–$30 per video (Hoox) | You write, edit and quality-check |
| Beginner creators | About $50–$100 per video (Conversion.is) | Variable quality, you manage briefs |
| Low-cost marketplace | From $99 per raw video (Billo) | Editing and hooks often extra |
Where the real savings are
The biggest cost in UGC ads isn't one video; it's the number you need to make before one wins. So the cheapest approach is usually the one with the lowest cost per variation. Ways to cut it:
- Write several hooks for one ad body instead of filming several full ads.
- Reuse a winning script with a new presenter or setting.
- Test angles cheaply first, then spend more on the winners.
- Edit in-house with a free captioning app if you have the time.
What not to cut
Paid-usage rights, permission from anyone on camera, and quality checks. A cheap ad you can't legally run, or one with garbled product text, costs more than it saves.
For reference, our own Test Pack is $149 for 3 finished ads with 9 hook versions in total, about $50 per ad. Details are on our pricing.
