What is AI UGC?
AI UGC is user-generated-style video made with AI instead of a human creator. An AI presenter, or avatar, delivers a script in a believable setting, usually combined with real product shots, captions and an end card. Brands use it to produce many ad variations quickly and cheaply for testing on Meta and TikTok.

AI UGC, AI UGC ads, generative UGC: the same thing
People use several names. "AI UGC" usually refers to the videos; "AI UGC ads" to those videos running as paid ads; "generative UGC" emphasises that scripts, presenters, voices or scenes come from generative AI. All describe UGC-style content where some or all of what's on screen is AI-made.
What's in a typical AI UGC ad
- An AI presenter (avatar) who speaks to camera with synthetic voice and lip sync.
- A believable setting: kitchen, car, bathroom, gym.
- Real product shots or footage cut in, so packaging and details are accurate.
- Burned-in captions, an end card, and alternative opening hooks.
Why brands use it
Speed and cost per variation. Self-serve tools put the cost at roughly $5 to $30 a video (Hoox), and a new opening line doesn't need a reshoot. That makes it practical to test many hooks and angles before spending more on the ones that work.
What it can't do
It can't give a genuine customer testimonial, and it's weaker at close physical demos like texture or fit. The FTC says AI avatars aren't banned outright, but they must not pose as real customers. Platforms such as TikTok require labels on realistic AI-generated content.
ScrollStop Labs is a done-for-you AI UGC studio: we write the scripts, produce the ads with real product shots and check every frame before delivery.
